How I spent my weekend..... refinishing this beauty!

I was so thrilled when my mom gave me this "not so pretty" antique vanity that she used to use everyday to put on her makeup when I was a kid. I mean I opened the drawers and I still remember the smell that came out of them!!! I used to sit at this very vanity and play in all her expensive makeup and proceed to get in trouble everytime!!! This has so many memories for me! But the condition was poor. As you can see, scratches and one of the legs appears to have been gnawed on by an animal. So what did my crafty self do? Well I refinished it to my liking of course! So here is my step by step path to the beauty I created, and will now use as my jewelry designing table!!! The outcome is to die for!

Step 1~ Sanding. Yes, I did it with my bare hands! Well my bare hands used sand paper.

Step 2~ Priming. Gotta prime to make the paint last!

Step 3~ Applying the paint! I used what I would say to be a mix between mint and robins egg blue.

Step 4~ Distressing. UGH! This was the absolute worst part!!!! Hard as hell! My arms are still sore from doing this! I used the same sand paper as I did for the sanding. Probably not my brightest idea. And I didnt distress it near as much as I would have liked, simply because it was so hard!

And.......the final product! (before its completely cluttered with all of my supplies!!!) But I cant describe how excited I am to actually have drawers!!!!! My old crafting table had NONE!!!!! So maybe I will stay organized........ah who am I kidding!

Lottie Dottie........

We likes ta party......no I really am not going to sing a snoop song! I am however going to tell you about my FAVORITE boutique....Lottie Dottie! It is located on the South Side of Indy right across from Greenwood Park Mall. Everything about this boutique is plush, from the minute you walk in you are in shabby chic heaven! (for me that is the best heaven!) And the clothes! Oh the clothes! Everything is just perfect! She even has handmade baby items, and onsies! She also carries a varity of candles and body lotions that are to die for.....and my favorite .....Ambre oils! I am a huge fan of the brown one and actually own 2! Race Weekend in Good ol Indianapolis, Indiana!

Lots of crazy things happen during race weekend!!!! I grew up about 4 blocks from the Motor Speedway, I can remember having a lemonade stand every year and BANKING!!!! It was such a good time as a kid! Now as I am a grown up, I just am not into it! Not a bit. Maybe its because I grew up with it for so long. But I do like Danica, and how awesome would it be to see a girl kick some ass on the track!?!?!?! Gooooo Danica!

Femme Petal Photo Shoot Fun!!!

So the photo shoot I have been talking about FOREVER happend!!!! And......I wanna share some of my favorite shots with you!!! This is such a huge milestone for my ETSY shop! I had so much fun making all the new jewelry! I invited a friend of mine to come along and be a model with me and I think we did a GREAT job! So enjoy some of the pics. Night out

Its been a little while since I have went out with my girls! Sooooo..... last night we made it happen! We went out for Sushi first, yes I tried Sushi!!!!! Ummmm my thoughts??? The raw fish sushi (I tried spicy tuna) I was not a fan.....but I loved the california rolls. My favorite was the crab meat and asparagus roll. I really gave a good show to the people sitting next to me! They were laughing sooo hard at me. Note to self, NEVER chew the little ginger slices! YUCK!!!! So after dinner, went out! It was a good night! Oh and I rewarded myself for all my hard work too! A new pair of true religion jeans!!!

Family Photo Shoot!

I just wanted to share with you all a few of our awesome family photos! We had so much fun having them taken! Maxwell Carter also turned a year old on Feb 16th! I cant believe how fast the time goes. I would love to freeze time right where I am in life at this point in time, life is good! Wouldnt change a thing! Born and raised in good ol Indianapolis, Indiana....I a of coarse a Colts fan! It is so exciting to see them going to the superbowl again!!!!
So who are you rooting for? What do you think the score will be? I am guessing the colts will in it by 10! But what do I know!
